Patricia Lafleur

Patricia “Patti” Lum Lafleur, 73, of Volcano, died March 22, 2018 at Hospice of Hilo’s Pohai Malama Facility. She was born on July 5, 1944, in Honolulu. She was retired and was also a member of New Hope – Volcano and the Daughters of God.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 1:30 p.m. March 31 at New Hope – Volcano, 11-3019A Volcano Road; Celebration of Life at 1:30 p.m. Casual attire.

She is survived by, husband, John Lafleur Sr.; four daughters; two sons; one step-daughter; two step-sons; one sister; 24 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Kealia Moniz-Torres

Kealia K.K.H.M.K. Moniz-Torres, 15 of Keaau, died March 16, 2018. She was born on Sept. 18, 2002 in Hilo and was a student at Kea’au High School.

Services will be held on March 31 at Ballard Family Mortuary-Hilo, 570 Kinoole St. Hilo, from 9-11 a.m.

She is survived by mother, Joanna K.K. (Buddy) Moniz, father, Paul W.G.I. (Sasha) Moniz; brothers, Keanu Moniz, Bud Amaral and Paul Moniz Jr.; sisters, Keani Moniz-Torres, Kaisha-Star Soares-Moniz, Kaianna Moniz and Kailey Moniz; grandparents, Joann (Terrance) Kaleiwahea, James K. Mahu Jr., Stephanie (John) Moniz and Paul (Josie) Moniz; numerous aunties, uncles and cousins

Clara Aiona

Clara Kinuko Aiona, 97, of Hilo, died March 21, 2018 at Life Care Center of Hilo. She was born on March 17, 1921, in Naalehu, and was a retired florist at Hirose Nursery and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.

Friends may call on April 2 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo for visitation from 8:30-10 a.m.; Celebration of Mass at 10:30 a.m. Casual attire. Burial to follow at East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 at noon.

She is survived by daughter, Charlene (Kevin) Kubota of Hilo; hanai daughter, Goody (Doc) Leopoldino of Hilo; sister, Irene Balfe of Honolulu; one brother in-law; four sisters in-law; nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Laura Moire

Laura “Bella” Lynn Moire MD, died March 1, 2018. Born Feb. 20, 1955, she was a healer, pioneer of holistic medicine and a board certified emergency physician.

No services are planned.

Laura is survived by daughters, Arielle and Laila; step-daughters, Keirstin and Jessica; parents, Lillian and Ralph;siblings, Mike, Mark and Viki; and husband, Mana.

Correction

An incorrect date was included in a Celebration of Life for Margie Grimes published on March 27. The Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 8 at Hawaii Big Game Fishing Club.
